What is the difference between the Opticron MM4 77 VHD and the Opticron MM4 77 ED?

Comparing the Opticron MM4 77 models

The single greatest improvements made to the VHD over the former ED model is to be found in the new premium coatings both on the eyepiece and within the optical body lens system.

Upgraded coatings are not to be underestimated as they make significant upgrades in clarity and resolution, particularly important at the higher power magnifications and in lower light conditions when the optics are really put to the test.

This is achieved by reducing chromatic aberration, unwanted coma and other diffraction related issues which otherwise result in less sharp clear and detailed images.

Additionally worthy of note is that Opticron have not increased the retail price of the new VHD model at this time. This in no way is a reflection of anything but the added value Opticron are typically known for in offering the latest and greatest offerings as technology advances, without impacting the customer's retail price. It also comes with a new full 30-year warranty and is a class leading product in this, and in higher price point categories.
